3 members of family killed in road accident

Panaji, Sep 15 (UNI) Three members of a family, including an infant, were killed and another child seriously injured, when two vehicles collided head on at Suktali Mollen near Goa-Belgaum Highway in South Goa today.

According to police, the incident occurred when a Maruti Zen, on its way to Mollem from Usgao Tisk, collided with a tipper truck coming from the opposite direction.

The deceased were identified as Sunil Thorat (35), who was driving the Maruti Zen, his wife Jyoti (30) and their six-month-old son Vinayak. Their four-year-old daughter Shruti, who was seriously injured, has been admitted to a local hospital.

The Driver of the truck has been arrested, police added.
