Army to stay to assist civil administration in Bihar
Patna, Sep 14 (UNI) Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar today said the army would stay until October to assist the civil administration in the flood affected areas.
After visiting the flood affected Madhepura district Mr Kumar said the recurrence of floods can not be ruled out following rains in the catchment areas that was swelling the Kosi river.
Referring to the past records he said that the discharge water from the river had even recorded upto seven lakh cusecs in the month of October.
Mr Kumar reiterated his appeal to the people to come out of their affected areas and shift to the relief centres. Those who have refused to come out were still trapped, he admitted saying that the government was trying to convince them to shift to the relief centres.
