Ahmedabad bids farewell to lord Ganesh

Ahmedabad, Sep 14 (UNI) The city bid farewell to lord Ganesh with utmost devotion, as the ten-day long Ganesh festival came to an end today.

Hundreds of idols were immersed in the Sabarmati river here amidst tight security, with no untoward incidents being reported, police said.

Elaborate security arrangements were made across the city, in view of yesterday's terror attack in Delhi and July 26 bomb blasts in Ahmedabad. But the terror attacks did not dampen the spirit of the people from enjoying the last day of the festival as they danced to devotional songs.
