41,273 job cards distributed in south Kashmir, Anantnag
Srinagar, Sep 14 (UNI) Under National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (NREGA) 41,273 job cards have been distributed in Anantnag district where 444 works were taken up at a cost of Rs 7.52 crore, an official spokesman said today.
He said so far 44,000 mandays of work were generated during this fiscal year which has helped to provide employment avenues to 2,674 families in the district.
He said under NREGA 444 works were taken up at a cost of Rs 7.52 crore, of which 26 works have been completed involving an expenditure of Rs 46.18 lakh.
Under SGSY, 845 lucrative units are being established at a cost of Rs 1.92 crore in the district. Fifty two such units stand set up.
For this purpose, an interest subsidy of Rs 7.20 lakh has been provided to the beneficiaries.
Similarly, under IWDP, work is in progress on six haryali projects in the district.
