Rathod demands seven pc reservation for DNT
Mumbai, Sep 13 (UNI) Expelled BJP MP Haribhau Rathod today demanded that the Central Government should give the seven per cent quota from the OBC category to the Denotified Nomadic Tribe (DNT) people for their all round development.
Speaking at a seminar organised by Akhil Banjara Samaj here, the community to which he belongs to, the controversial MP said at least 15 crore people belonging to Denotified Nomadic Tribe are spread all over India and demanded that they should be given reservation in the government jobs and education.
Mr Rathod said the Balkrishna Renke Commission, appointed for the study of the category, has made the recommendations to do justice for the people of the community, divided in about 350 castes, and demanded that the UPA Government should implement the same.
Several politicians from various states, belonging to different castes falling in DNT category, attended today's seminar.
