Prachanda to visit India, discuss 'entire gamut' of ties

New Delhi, Sep 13 (UNI) Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal 'Prachanda' will arrive here tomorrow on his first official visit abroad and discuss with Indian leaders the entire gamut of India-Nepal relations.

The five-day visit from September 14-18, at the invitation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, ''will provide the opportunity for discussing the entire gamut of issues between our two countries,'' the External Affairs Ministry announced here.

Prachanda, an erstwhile guerilla leader who headed Maoist insurgency in the former Himalayan kingdom, will begin his official engagements on Monday laying a wreath at the Samadhi of Mahatma Gandhi, the apostle of peace and non-violence.

He will be accompanied by Foreign Minister Upendra yadav, formation and Communications Minister Krishna Bahadur Mahara, Water Resources Minister Bishnu Poudel and Commerce and Supplies Minister Rajendra Mahato and a large business delegation.

On Monday, he will have official-level talks with Prime Minister.

The entire gamut of the Indo-Nepal relations would be discussed at the meeting.

Dr Singh will host a dinner in his honour.

Although the External Affairs Ministry did not give etails of what would be discussed between the two countries, the sources said sharing of river waters and repairing of Kosi river embankments would be part of the agenda of discussions between Prachanda and Indian leaders.
