Life cripples in frontier district of Kupwara in Kashmir

Baramulla, Sep 13 (UNI) Life was today crippled in the frontier district of Kupwara following strike to protest the death of a youth in security force firing on processionists here yesterday.

Shops and business establishments remained closed and traffic was off the road in Kupwara town and adjoining areas.

Educational institutions wore a deserted look and work in government offices, banks and other semi government departments was affected as employees stayed away.

Manzoor Afzal was killed and scores were wounded, when CRPF and police opened fire to disperse processionists at old town after Friday prayes.

Later, the authorities clamped curfew in the old town.
