Jammu, Sep 13 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir police has sought the cancellation of bail granted to former JKNPP MLA Faqir Nath for not cooperating in the investigation of a case, sources said here today.
''An application has been filed by the police post Shandwa under Domana police station, seeking cancellation of bail granted to former Jammu and Kashmir National Panther Party's (JKNPP) MLA Faqir Nath,'' sources told UNI and adding that the court had granted the bail to the accused in the month of March.
However, the Judicial Mobile Magistrate Electricity Jammu, M K Sharma after considering the bail application has summoned Mr Faqir Nath and asked him to explain the reason, why the bail granted to him should not be revoked, the sources said.
The former MLA Faqir Nath along with others in an inebriated state had allegedly attacked the complainant named Sukhdev Singh, while he was discharging his duties as a security guard at his residence.
Mr Nath and his accomplices had been booked by the police under sections 332/353/147 of Ranbir Penal Code.
