Heavy rains lash Ahmedbad, parts of Gujarat

Ahmedabad, Sep 13 (UNI) Heavy rains, accompanied by lightening, lashed the city for the second consecutive day today.

The rains started in the evening and are expected to continue till night.

The second wave of the rains that began yesterday, led to waterlogging in many areas of the city. Many trees were uprooted in the various areas of the city during the last 24 hours.

According to Met department, due to low pressure over Arabian Sea, coastal regions of Gujarat are likely to receive good rainfall in the coming 24 hours.

Meanwhile, other parts of Gujarat including Saurashtra and south Gujarat too received heavy to moderate rainfall during last 24 hours. Around 12 dams in Saurashtra are overflowing and authorities are taking steps to ensure that nothing untoward incident takes place.
