BKU workers agitating over power shortage
Kaushambi, Sep 13 (UNI) Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) workers today sat on a dharna in front of a power office over long power cuts and sick transformers.
The district administration has deployed police at every power unit as a precautionary measure.
The BKU workers were demanding proper power supply and repair of non working transformers for irrigation purpose, official sources said.
They have alleged that power shortage was posing hardship to the agrigarians as their crops were drying in the scorching heat.
The workers were staging demonstration at six power centres of the district including Sirathu, Manjhanpur and Manauri. They have warned to continue their agitation untill their demands are met.
