Vaghela distributes Rs 9 cr under TWRFS

Bangalore, Sep 12 (UNI) Union Textile Minister Shankarsinh Vaghela today distributed Rs nine crore to Binny Mill workers under the Textile Workers Rehabilitation Fund Scheme (TWRFS).

Speaking at a function here, Mr Vaghela also assured to release funds for workers of other mills under the scheme in other parts of the country.

As per the TWRFS, the workers of closed textile mills were eligibile for relief equivalent to their 18 months salary, he said.

The ministry has taken up the programme for the timely detection of sick and potentially sick companees and provide preventive remedial measures, he said.

The issue of providing Minimum Support Prices for silk growers would be taken up in the next cabinet meeting, he added.
