Upset over board exam results, student kills self

Noida, Sep 12 (UNI) Disappointed over the marks he secured in his board exams, an 18-year-old boy today committed suicide, here in a park by strangling himself with an electric wire.

An ex-student of Amity International School, Saket, Abhishek had got a compartment in his chemistry board exams this year. He reappeared for the subject and passed with a first division.

Abhishek, who was staying with his grandfather here, ran away on September 8, when he accompanied his grandfather to a bank.

He stayed at a Paharganj-based hotel, from where he sent a courier to his father in Patna, saying he was committing suicide, disappointed with the results of his exams. When the family rushed to the hotel, he had already left the hotel.

Abhishek, who was described as a disciplined and bright student by Vice-Principal of his school Ritu Mehta, was found hanging, early in the morning.

SP Ashok Kumar Tripathi said the investigation was on.

The body has been sent for a post-mortem.
