Congress high command urged to allot more seats to BCs

Tirupati, Sep 12 (UNI) Senior Congress leader and Convener of OBC MPs' Forum V Hanumantha Rao today urged the Congress high command to allot two Assembly seats in each Parliament constituency in Andhra Pradesh for BCs exclusively.

Addressing a press conference here, he also urged Andhra Pradesh Congress Affairs In-Charge M Veerappa Moily to convene a meeting of senior Congress leaders in each district on the implementation of the recent state cabinet's decision to provide 33 per cent reservation for BCs in the Legislative Assembly and Council.

Pointing out that three or four districts in the state, like Nellore and Nalgonda, had no representation of BCs in the Assembly, he said other parties were concentrating on BCs and other weaker sections for the coming Assembly elections.

He also expressed confidence that the Congress would get full majority in the next Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
