VHP to put an end to conversion in country:Singhal

Puri, Sep 11 (UNI) Expressing concern over the growing conversion in the country, VHP President Ashok Singhal today said a plan will be chalked out soon to put an end to it.

The killing of Swami Laxmanananda Saraswati would end conversion and cow slaughter in the country, Mr Singhal told newspersons after meeting Puri Shankaracharaya Swami Neeschalananda Saraswati here.

The VHP supremo called on the Shankaracharya in his Puri mutt after darshan of the Lord Jagannath. He had a closed door meeting for over an hour with the Shankaracharya.

Mr Singhal expressed his discontent over the probe being conducted by the crime branch of Orissa police into the brutal killing of Swami Laxmanananda.

He regretted that even after 18 days of the ghastly murder, the police have failed to identify the killers and alleged that the state government was shielding the culprits.

State VHP leader Subash Chouhan announced that a month long campaign from September 23 would be launched in the state in which the holy mortar from the ''Samadhi'' of Swami Laxmananada would be taken in processions to all the villages in Kondhmal.

The VHP activists, he said, would urge the villagers to take vows not to allow any conversion. At the same time rituals would be organised to bring back all those converted into Hindu fold.
