People of K'taka changed country's political history: Advani

Bangalore, Sep 11 (UNI) Leader of the Opposition and senior BJP leader L K Advani today said the people of Karnataka have changed the political history of the country by electing a BJP government for the first time in the south.

''It had become a notion that BJP was a north Indian party but the people of Karnataka have dispelled this belief. I have been eagerly observing the rise of the then Jansangh when the first Legislator was elected from Udupi, decades ago. Now you have elected a BJP government, I congratulate the people here,'' Mr Advani told newspersons on his arrival to the city to attend a three-day National Executive of the party beginning tomorrow.

BJP National President Rajnath Singh said the people of Karnataka had helped the BJP to increase its stature and grow strong nationally.
