Govt to re-appoint retired doctors on contract basis

New Delhi, Sep 11 (UNI) The Union Cabinet today gave approval for the appointment of retired General Duty Medical Officers on contract basis for one year, extendable by another year on a consolidated amount of Rs 25,000 per month.

The doctors, whose age does not exceeded 65 years, would be eligible for this.

The decision would enable the health ministry to fill up the vacant posts of GDMOs on a contract basis as and when required, to ensure smooth functioning of dispensaries/ hospitals, Information and Broadcasting Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi said here.
