Arunachal generates revenue of Rs 1.25 crore from coal
Itanagar, Sep 11 (UNI) Arunachal Pradesh earned a revenue of Rs 1.25 crore from coal, extracted from Kharsang coal field in Changlang district during 2007-2008, Mines and Minerals Minister Newlai Tingkhatra informed the assembly today.
In reply to a written question raised by W Lowangdong,the minister said M/S National Mining Company of Assam's Tinsukia district had been engaged by Arunachal Pradesh Mineral Development and Trading Corporation Limited.
He said 109358.840 tonnes of coal were extracted from the field within the leasehold area from central block of Namchik-Namphuk coal fields at Kharsang as approved by the centre government.
