American National Ken Haywood comes back to India

Mumbai, Sep 11 (UNI) After spending barely a month in America, Kenneth Haywood, from whose computer an e-mail linked with Ahmedabad serial blasts was forwarded, has came back to India to continue work with Campbell company here as the communication expert.

Mr Haywood had flown to America last month after undergoing scientific test at forensic Science Laboratory in Mumbai University campus, Kalina.

He reached his Navi Mumbai flat at around 0130 hours today, sources said, adding that he wanted to take rest and did not want to talk to mediapersons.

Despite the city police's notice, barring him from leaving the country, Mr Haywood flew to America via New Delhi without any intimation to the investigating agency.

Prior to being flown to America, Mr Haywood had alleged that some officials of the Anti Terrorist Squad ATS), which is investigating into the matter, came to his flat in drunken condition and demanded money to give him clean chit in the case.

ATS officials may call him for interrogation in this connection in the next couple of days.

Earlier, Mr Haywood had said, ''I was never named a suspect.'' The officials have determined that Mr Haywood's computer and/or email address were compromised by a third party and illegally misused.

The Campbell officials had also appreciated the professionalism of the police personnel and ATS officials. ''We are confident that they will be able to apprehend whoever is responsible for this horrible crime,'' they said.
