3 hit by a train at unmanned level crossing

Coimbatore, Sep 11(UNI) Two persons and a boy were injured when the car in which they were travelling was hit by a speeding train at the unmanned level crossing, near Eechanary, on the outskirts of the city today.

Police said Balu (37), his son Devendran (6) and his friend Viswanathan(45) were on way to Erode after attending a wedding at Eechanary when the Dindigul-Pothanur Passenger hit the car at the level crossing at Chettipalayam.

Some locals rushed to the spot and sent the injured to a private hospital where Balu and Vishwanathan's condition was reported to be critical.
