Volkswagen to open new showroom in Cochin

Mumbai, Sep 10: As part of the expansion policy, auto maker Volkswagen India will open a new 7,500 sq ft authorized showroom in Cochin next month.

The showroom will have a capicity to service 40 cars daily. Volkswagen Group-India President and Managing Director Joerg Mueller said ''This is in line with our strategy to extend Volkswagen's reach in the country. We see a growing demand for our cars and this step is towards a greater pan-India presence and easier accessibility to customers.'' The company currently operates franchisees in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Chandigarh and Ludhiana. It is also building a plant at Chakan near Pune for production of 'Passat' and 'Jetta' models, which will become opertational from next year.
