RIL to help in rehabilitation and reconstruction of Bihar

Patna, Sep 10 (UNI) The Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) today donated a cheque for Rs 11 crore to the Chief Minister's relief fund for assisting rehabilitation of flood victims.

After donating the cheque chairperson of the Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation Mrs Nita Mukesh Ambani told newspersons here that the entire RIL family was deeply shocked and distressed by the tragic loss of lives and livelihood.

She said Chairman and Managing Director of the company Mukesh D Ambanis donation was just a gesture of support in the hour of natural calamity.

Mrs Ambani admitted that providing support to the displaced people, piecing together their lives, families, assets and livelihood was a daunting challenge and the RIL, along with its staff and manpower, was at the disposal of the chief minister.

She said the RIL team would strive for rehabilitation, reconstruction and support families in rebuilding their lives in the flood affected areas. RIL would work in tandem with the state government for specific rehabilitation and specially in reconstruction activities.

She said along with Reliance, the Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation would contribute in an overall development of the community that suffered a lot in the catastrophic floods and announced to extend all possible assistance in rebuilding of panchayat centres, panchayat bhavans and other such community centres damaged in the floods.

All the challenges the RIL is committed to undertake in Bihar would be done under the institutional framework as proposed to be created by the state government, she added.
