Four-day festival of Indian Cinema
Puducherry, Sep 10 (UNI) Panorama-2008, a festival of Indian films, jointly organised by the Directorate of Information and Publicity, government of Puducherry and Navadarshan Film Society would be held here for four days from September 12.
According to an official release here today, the inaugural film would be the popular Tamil film "Periyar" which was selected as the best film. Its director Gnana Rajasekeran would be given the Sankardas Swamigal award consisting of Rs.10,000 in cash and a citation.
Malayalam hit Kathaparayumbol, Dharam (Hindi), Anuranan (Bengali) and Ammuvagiya Naan (Tamil) would be the other films in the festival.
Puducherry Chief Minister V Vaithilingam would inaugurate the festival at Alliance Francaise auditorium.
