Army discusses steps to check infiltration in JK

Jammu, Sep 10: Army top brass discussed the various steps to control the increasing infiltration along the International Border and the Line of Control(LoC) from across the border in Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said here today.

''Concerned over the increasing infiltration bids across the Indo-Pak border, Army's top commanders called a meeting here yesterday and chalked out a fresh strategy to foil these intrusion attempts,'' official sources told the sources.

Lt Gen Tej Saproo, GOC, Western Command, who arrived in Jammu on a two-day official visit, convened a meeting to assess the security situation of the region.

Gen Saproo along with Lt Gen Vinay Sharma, GOC, Yole-based Rising Star Corps, and Major General D L Chowdhary, GOC, 26 Infantry division, held detailed discussions with the Field Commanders and also interacted with senior military, para military and police officers to discuss measures to thwart the evil designs of the militants, the sources said.
