VAT Amendment Bill tabled in Assembly
Kohima, Sep 9 (UNI) Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today tabled Nagaland Value Added Tax (Amendment) Bill, 2008 in the House.
On the first day of the Assembly session, Speaker Kiyanilie Peseyie took the Voice Vote to introduce the Bill in the House.
The discussion on the amendment and passing of the Bill will be taken up on Thursday, the Speaker informed.
In a separate move, Chotishu Sazo, Parliamentary Secretary for Social Welfare and Child and Women Development tabled 'Ratification of the Protection of Women From Domestic Violence Act-2005', which was introduced in the House after the Speaker took a voice vote.
Mr Sazo informed the House that the Union government had already passed the Act and assent of the President was received on September 13, 2005.
The Act will be accepted in the state after ratification by the Assembly.
Earlier, Mr Rio laid Nagaland public service commission rules on the table and presented a copy of the audit report of the Comptroller and Auditor General.
