Rs 1.78 lakh scholarship for children of J

Srinagar, Sep 9 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir police chief has sanctioned Rs 1.78 lakh for 65 children of police personnel who were killed in action in the state, a police spokesman said today.

He said the scholarship was sanctioned out of Central Police Education Fund.

He said Rs 1.45 lakh have been sanctioned in favour of 38 students of police personnel who laid down their lives while fighting militancy in the state.

Similarly, Rs 33,000 was also released for 27 wards of deceased police personnel who died a natural death.

He said these students are presently studying in various educational institutions in different classes.
