Ex-gratia to flood-victims our priority: UP chief secretary

Lucknow, Sep 9 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Secretary Atul Kumar Gupta today directed officials to disperse ex-gratia to flood-victims for houses and agricultural purposes on priority.

Mr Gupta, while reviewing the flood relief works at a meeting in Annexe here, said the officers should complete their survey soon so that financial help could be provided to those affected people as soon as possible.

Giving details, the chief secretary said that so far Rs 383 crore have been been allotted to the flood-hit districts, while more money would be given for the rescue and relief operations when needed.

For rennovation of dams, roads, health centers, schools etc, the related departments should complete their survey and act accordingly, Mr Gupta added.

The rennovation work would be carried out from Calamity Relief Funds, he informed.

Principal Secretary (finance) Anoop Mishra, Principal Secretary (revenue) Balwinder Kumar, Principal Secretary (agriculture) Shri Krishna and Relief Commissioner G K Tandon were also present in the meeting.
