Both Hurriyat chairmen and JKLF chief remains under house arrest
Srinagar, Sep 9 (UNI) Chairmen of both the factions of the Hurriyat Conference (HC) Syed Ali Shah Geelani and Mirwaiz Moulvi Omar Farooq and Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) chief Mohammad Yaseen Malik remained under house arrest for the past ninth day in a row.
Mirwaiz Omar and Mr Malik were put under house arrest on September one, soon after their release from week-long detention while Mr Geelani has been under house arrest since Thursday.
Earlier, all the three leaders were arrested by police on August 24 and 25 to prevent them from participating in the Lal Chowk chalo march on August 25, call for which was given by the Coordination Committee (CC) spearheading the present agitation in Kashmir.
Meanwhile, the CC, an alliance of both the factions of the HC, trade, employees and social and religious organisations, have called for another 'Lal Chowk chalo' on October 6.
