A BDO and two other arrested in bribe case

Bhubaneswar, Sep 09 (UNI) Belpahara Block Development Officer Dhurba Suna and two others officials were arrested today by the Vigilance sleuths for accepting bribe.

Mr Suna, in-charge BDO of Belpahar block, was caught red handed while demanding illegal gratification 4000 from one Bholeswar Meher, a civil contractor for passing bill of a road work being executed by him under Western Orissa Development Council Scheme.

In another case, Sundargarh Land Development Bank Secretary Sricharan Sen and Field Officer Debananda Saha were also arrested by the vigilance for accepting bribe from a person for processing the proposal for waiving of outstanding agriculture loan.

Vigilance sources said a trap was laid in the premises of the of Land Development Bank by the Vigilance sleuths from Sambalpur.

As per the direction of Mr Sen, the complaint, a lady, handed over the bribe money to the Field Officer.

The bribe money was recovered from the shirt pocket of the Field Officer and seized in presence of witnesses. Both Mr Sen and Mr Saha were arrested.
