Woman commit suicide, body of another recovered in Kashmir

Srinagar, Sep 8 (UNI) A 35-year-old woman committed suicide while the body of another woman of same age was fished out from a nullah in the Kashmir valley overnight, official sources said today.

They said Mst Zahida Akhter, 35, wife of one Nisar Ahmad Shahid consumed some poisonous substance in her Nanil house in south Kashmir district of Anantnag.

She was declared brought dead in the hospital.

Sources said body of another 35-year-old Shaheena Begum was fished out from Kehmil Nallah at village Pushpor in the frontier district of Kupwara.

Police has registered a case and started investigation.

The trend of commiting suicide in the Kashmir valley, particularly among women has not stopped even after the muslim scholars and ulmas declared it an unislamic act.
