JSW steel production up by 7 pc in August

Mumbai, Sep 8 (UNI) JSW Steel Limited posted a seven per cent increase in crude steel production in August 2008 over corresponding period in the previous year.

The break-up of production, according to a Company release, was crude steel: 3.41 lakh tonnes, rolled products: flat 2.80 lakh tonnes and long 0.28 lakh tonnes.

During the month, the Company commissioned second Colour Coating Line of 1.32 lakh tonne per annum capacity at its Tarapur works in Maharashtra.
