Centre to provide DG sets to Bihar to manage relief camps
New Delhi, Sep 8 (UNI) The Centre continues to extend all possible assistance to the Bihar government to deal with the flood situation.
The Ministry of Commerce has decided to supply DG sets as per the requirement of the state government for management of relief camps.
The state government will purchase additional DG sets, if required.
As many as 37 Army columns with 37 Engineering Task Forces and 37 medical teams continue to be deployed for rescue and relief operations. Eleven Air Force helicopters continue to be deployed to drop food packets and logistics support. At least 777 NDRF Personnel continue to be deployed while 3521 boats have been deployed for evacuation. About 9.52 lakh people have been evacuated to safer places so far.
Four terminals viz Sahrsa, Purnia, Forbes Gunj/Jogbani, Sonbarsa Kachahri have been listed for handling the relief material. Trains continue to run for evacuation of affected people.
