Another Bangladeshi arrested with citizenship card in Tripura
Agartala, Sep 8 (UNI) The Mobile Task Force (MTF) personnel of Tripura police arrested a Bangladeshi national from the Abhoynagar area here and seized a fake citizenship certificate from him.
Police said acting on a tip-off, MTF personnel raided the area on Saturday and detained a Bangladeshi national, who claimed to be one Hazarat Ali of Nandannagar area on the outskirts of Agartala.
However, on interrogation it was revealed that his real name was Machun Mian and he was a resident of Baleswar village in Brahmanbaria of Bangladesh. He also submitted an Indian citizenship card issued in July 1999 from Agartala in favour of Hazarat Ali.
Later, he was handed over to police for further investigation about his activities in Tripura.
Altogether 27 Bangladeshi nationals were arrested in the past few months from different locations of the state by police and BSF personnel and most of them were involved in anti-Indian activities, police added.
