25 injured in firing and teargasing in north Kashmir
Baramullah, Sep 8 (UNI) At least 25 people were injured, ten of them with bullet wounds, when security forces opened fire and burst teargas shells to the disperse processionists here this evening.
Hundreds of people took to streets at main chowk Baramulla shortly before Iftar (break of fast) protesting against indiscriminate arrest of youths in north Kashmir.
Sources said security forces burst teargas shells and opened fire to disperse the processionists.
They said 25 people were injured, including ten with bullet wounds. The injured were hospitalised.
A report from Srinagar said that security forces opened fire to disperse processionists at Machoo on Srinagar- Charar-e-Sharif road this evening.
Three people were reportedly injured in the firing.
