Former MLC of Bihar passes away
Patna, Sep 7: Former Member of Legislative Council (MLC) and a veteran Congress leader Harish Chandra Jha died at a local nursing home on Sunday, Sep 7 morning after a prolonged illness. He was 87. Jha is survived by three sons and four daughters. The octogenarian politician was first elected for the council from Darbhanga constituency in 1976.
He also held the post of district president of the party for Darbhanga, from 1980 to 1992.
Meanwhile the Union minister of state for Human Resource Development, Md Ali Ahsraf Fatmi, former MP and cricketer Kirti Azad, and MLC Binod Kumar Choudhury expressed their deep sorrow over the death of Jha.
