KVIB to train Kashmir women in crewel and Namda crafts
Srinagar, Sep 6 (UNI) The Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB) has decided to train poor Kashmiri women in traditional crewel and namda crafts.
An official spokesman said here today that Under Prime Minister Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) three months training course had been started by the KVIB at Pahilpora Sofapora in Ganderbal district to impart trainings to rural women in Crewel and Namda crafts.
He said Secretary KVIB R C Sarma has said 30 poor women of the area would be trained in Crewel and Namda crafts to enable them to set up their own income generating units.
He said stipend of Rs 100 would be paid to each trainee per month during training period besides raw material to the trainees by KVIB.
