Hooda seeks approval for Military School in Haryana
Chandigarh, Sep 6 (UNI) Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today urged Defence Minister A K Antony to approve the establishment of a Military School at Matenhail in Jhajjar district.
In a written communication to the Minister, Mr Hooda said the Panchayat of Matenhail village had already donated 300 acres of land free of cost for the school and the foundation stone of the school was laid on September 7,2003 by the then Defence Minister George Fernandes.
However, the school had not been set up so far, he added.
He said the people of Haryana considered it a matter of honour to serve in the armed forces of the country. A large number of young boys joined the armed forces on regular basis and about 10 per cent of the Armed Forces personnel were from Haryana, he added.
