Former mukhiya murdered by miscreants in Bihar
Munger, Sep 6 (UNI) Armed miscreants gunned down a former mukhiya near Bariarpur railway station under the North Bihar district in the afternoon today.
Police said three unidentified people shot Pappu Mondal near Bariarpur railway station of a point blank range.
The assailants immediately fled, while Mr Mondal, former mukhiya of Nakki Panchayat, died on the spot.
Mr Mondal, a resident of Locchi village, was on his way to Bariarpur market when the miscreants attacked him, police said adding, a past rivalry might have been the motive behind the murder.
The police had sent the body to Munger for postmortem, while an FIR had been lodged in the local police station.
Raids were on to nab the assailants, according to police.
