Experts rue fast depletion of Mangrove forests in Coringa
Kakinada, Sep 6 (UNI) Experts today expressed concern on the fast depletion of Mangrove forests in the Coringa wildlife Sanctuary and the adverse effects on environment.
In a seminar held at the Ideal College of Arts and Sciences here, they stressed the need for effective steps to protect the Mangrove forests.
Presiding over the seminar, organised in collaboration with the 'Sastriya Vignana Samithi', Ideal Colleges Secretary P Chiranjivini Kumari said the eco-balance was being affected due to indiscriminate felling of Mangroves for the sake of construction of houses and for fuel wood.
Industrial effluents released by various industrial units also damaged the Mangroves, she added.
