Water committee constituted

Mumbai, Sep 5 (UNI) A Maharashtra-level Research and Advisory Committee under Rajiv Gandhi Drinking Water Abhiyan has been constituted for water supply and cleanliness zone.

A decision to this effect was taken on August 5.

Principal Secretary of Water Supply and Cleanliness is the Chairman of the Committee. Apart from various technical experts, Joint Secretary (Water) Supply and Cleanliness) is the Member-Secretary.

The committee will suggest new concepts for water supply and cleanliness zone. It will also decide projects and zones for research and development; solve the problems in implementation of zonal machinery, programme, select institutions and scientists; monitor technique of sensitive zones of State and select other components; take periodical review of research and development and evaluate the errors, an official release said here today.
