Volvo cars launched in Gujarat

Ahmedabad, Sep 5 (UNI) Two variants of Swedish carmaker Volvo were today launched by city-based Euro Cars, a division of S S Alloy Product Pvt Ltd, here.

Volvo's super luxury Sedan (S80) and versatile SUV (XC90) were unveiled for the automobile aficionados of Gujarat.

Talking to mediapersons here, Euro Cars Managing Director Kirit Patel said ''Powered by a D5 DPF engine and cutting-edge technologies developed by Volvo's global R &D team, both the cars are built to perfection and offer comfort, performance and safety.'' He said ''Both, Volvo S80 and XC90, have won the awards for Best Luxury Sedan and SUV at International Auto Shows. Volvo's SUV has won the award for 'Car of the Year for Best Safety Technology', while the Sedan won 'Best Advanced Technology' award.

He said Volvo's S80 blends today's technology with traditional solidity and comfort. It reveals a quiet beauty with Swedish elegance. Volvo XC90 has the capacity to forge ahead on rough roads, primarily intended as a spacious passenger car with excellent driving manners, immense safety and intelligent versatility in fuel efficiency.

The combination of Volvo's active all wheel drive system and smooth steering gives the Volvo S80 and Volvo XC90 true world class edge.

Around the world, Volvo is synonymous for safety and comfort. It is a matter of great satisfaction to bring the same world renowned brand to the discerning car lovers of Gujarat. They no longer need to travel outside Gujarat to test ride, purchase and enjoy the Volvo experience, Mr Patel added.

''We expect to sell about 25 cars in Gujarat by 2009 mainly to leading professionals such as industrialists, doctors and lawyers.

Euro Cars will facilitate Volvo owners of Gujarat an availability of on-air and doorstep services for any breakdown, which will be attended within 24 to 48 hours,'' said Darshan Gajjar, Director of Marketing.

He said ''Luxury Sedan (S80) is priced at Rs 3.84 million (ex-showroom) and the SUV (XC90) at Rs 4.4 million (ex-showroom).
