8 killed, 25 injured in J

Thathri/Doda, September 5, 2008 : At least eight people were killed and 25 others injured when a bus skidded off the road and fell into the swollen Chenab River in Kashmir on Thursday.

The overloaded mini-bus was heading towards Thathri from Kisthwar District. The rescue operation was begun immediately. Workers extricated the dead bodies and those injured from the bus. Some passengers are feared to be drowned in the strong waves of the Chenab River.
