Rupee extends losing on weak global cues
Mumbai, Sep 5: The Rupee on Friday, Sep 5 further weakened against US Dollar on sustained outflow due to weak market sentiments in the opening trade.
It opened at 44.52/53 per dollar and fluctuated in a wide range band between 44.29 and 44.58 per dollar in the opening trade amid highly volatile trading session, dealers said. The Indian unit fell in early trade as local stocks followed weak cues from Asian market, leading to foreign fund outflows, marketmen observed. 'Rupee is expected to remain under pressure due to negative market cues, however, some anticipated inflows and suspected intervention by the central bank would prevent its sharp fall,' a senior dealer with a leading private sector bank said.
