Prime Minister Manmohan Singh arrives to TN

Chennai, Sep 5: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, accompanied by Union Steel Minister Ram Vilas Paswan, arrived here today from New Delhi by a special IAF aircraft.

The Prime Minister was received at the airport by Tamil Nadu Governor S S Barnala, Chief Minister M Karunanidhi, Union Finance Minister P Chidambaram, State Ministers Durai Murugan, Arcot Veeraswamy, K Ponmudi, Chief Secretary Sreepathy, Mayor M Subramaniam and senior officials.

Dr Singh, immediately left for Raj Bhavan. From there he will proceed to Madras University where he will be conferred with Honorary Doctorate of Literature at a special convocation to mark sesquicentennial year of the university.
