Panchaloha idols seized, 4 escape

Tiruchirapalli, Sep 5 (UNI) Police seized seven panchaloha idols and a few vessels from a mini lorry at Karattmpatti Village on the Tiruchirapalli-Thuraiyur Highway near here last night.

Police said a police team conducted a routine vehicle check at Pulivalam during which they signalled the van to stop.

But the driver sped away. He was caught after a chase and the idols were seized.

However, four occupants of the van, including the driver, managed to escape under the cover of darkness, police said.
