One killed 20 injured in accidents in Jammu

Jammu, Sep 5 (UNI) A scooterist died while 20 were injured in different road accidents in Jammu region in the last 24 hours, police reports here today said.

''A scooterist met with an accident at Mehar in Ramban district and died on the spot while he was on his way from Jammu to Srinagar,'' police sources told UNI.

Meanwhile, the deceased has been identified as Harpreet Singh a resident of Amritsar, Punjab while pillion rider Jaswant Singh, also from Amritsar sustained injuries.

Police have registered a case against FIR no. 93/08 at Ramban police station, they said.

Police also said at least 22 people were injured in different road mishaps in the last 24 hours and they are being treated at Government Medical College Hospital, Jammu.
