Ganesh idols immersed peacefully

Tiruchirapalli, Sep 5 (UNI) Hundreds of idols of Lord Ganesh were immersed in River Cauvery here today amid tight security and religious fervour.

The idols put up in connection with Ganesh Chathurthi in different parts of the city and its suburbs were taken in a procession which culminated at the Southern Banks of River Cauvery where they were immersed.

Elaborate police bandobust was made to avoid any untoward incident.
