''Discussion was useful and constructive,'' Governor

Kolkata, Sep 5 (UNI) West Bengal Governor Gopal Krishna Gandhi termed as "useful and constructive" today's crucial conciliatory meeting to unwind the Nano tangle at Singur.

Talking to reporters after the three-hour meeting at Raj Bhawan, Mr Gandhi said, '' The discussion was useful and constructive.

Dialogues were held in a spirit of understanding. I thank all the people for the spirit with which they came. '' '' Both sides expressed their respective views, and discussion was held in a constructive spirit with the intention of providing a way-out. The meeting will resume tomorrow, '' he said.

Opposition leader Partha Chatterjee also opined that it was in the right direction.

After the meeting, Mr Chatterjee said, '' We are heading towards a solution. Our discussion regarding land is on. '' Asked whether he was satisfied with the meeting, Mr Chatterjee stated that the discussion was in the right direction.

'' I will not divulge the details right now and will report to party supremo Mamata Banerjee, '' he added.

However, the State Government representatives refused to say anything about the progress of the meeting.
