UPA govt has lost moral right to power post N deal:BJP
Hyderabad, Sep 4 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today said the UPA government at the Centre has lost the moral right to continue in the power and demanded the resignation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in view of the revelations of the secret letter sent by the Bush adminstration on Indo-US Nuclear Deal.
Addressing the press here, BJP spokesperson Prakash Javdekar said the UPA government should resign and allow the new regime to renegotiate the deal in the best interests of the nation and its people.
The letter had not just exposed the 'fraudulent claims' of the government, but also vindicated the BJP's position taken from the very first day, he claimed.
The Prime Minister had mislead Parliament and the people of the country on the real facts of the deal, following the revelations in the secret letter on several conditions on the supply of nuclear fuel, he alleged.
It was clear that India would lose the right to conduct nuclear tests for ever because of the accord, he said, adding there was no guarantee that the country would get assured and have a continuous nuclear fuel supply.
He claimed the NDA and BJP would renegotiate the deal with the US on crucial issues, if it was voted to power in the next elections.
