Insurgents hack 'police informer' to death, injure another

Jamui, Sep 4 (UNI) Insurgents hacked a person to death and seriously injured another suspecting them to be 'police informers' at Judpariaya village in this south Bihar district.

Superintendent of Police (SP) Binay Kumar said here today the assailants dragged both the victims out of their houses last night and 'punished' them in a nearby field.

While Umesh Barniwal (32) was hacked to death on the spot, Samar Rana (28) sustained serious injuries.

Later, the villagers took the injured to a nearby hospital where his condition was stated to be critical, the SP said.

The body has been sent for post-mortem.
