BJP urges political parties not to ''politicise floods''
Patna, Sep 4 (UNI) BJP today urged all the political parties not to ''politicise floods'' in the state and put up all efforts in providing succour to the flood victims in North Bihar without any delay.
Senior BJP leader and the party's affairs-in-charge in Bihar Kalraj Mishra told mediapersons here that the the state was facing the most devastating natural calamity in the recent years.
Thousands of people were rendered homeless and several of them lost their lives in the catastrophic floods, posing the greatest challenge to the state government in carrying out masive relief and rehabilitation works, he added.
''In the calamity of catastrophic proportion, there is no point for the political parties to be engaged in mud-slinging on the state government instead of extending their support and assistance to the flood victims'', Mr Mishra said adding such ''political games'' could also be played once the state came out from the miseries of natural calamity.
''The track record of Nitish Kumar government is excellent in handling the flood situation and providing relief to the victims'', Mr Mishra felt.
He said the common men and political parties should have patience and extend their support to the state government towards meeting the challenges.
